P67 Extreme4

The Deluxe is worth it over the Sabertooth if the price premium is ~$20-30 IMO.

I debated too, and it came down to this to me

- The Deluxe has 2 PCI slots, I have nothing left that uses PCI, I dont need them
- The Deluxe has a USB 3.0 box, which is nice, except my case has no place to mount it
- The Deluxe has bluetooth...I dont use bluetooth with anything..
- The Deluxe has 2 more USB 2.0 slots...Ehh
- The Deluxe's color scheme looks "cheap" to me in every picture, At least the Sabertooth looks unique

So I ordered the Sabertooth, Wish it was blue rather than green but im sure it will look nicer in my case

The deluxe also has a more robust IO panel and chipset heatsink, better (and additional) PCIE placement, and a richer feature set. It really comes down to what you're looking for on an individual level, but I'd trend toward the Deluxe if the price premium is acceptable.

Post pictures of that Sabertooth when it comes in. I want to see it in action I was most excited about that board before SB's launch, but my interest has since shifted to the Extreme4.... despite that, I still find it to be quite a looker.

Thank you guys...I went ahead and ordered the deluxe. I personally like the blue color better, but the sabertooth's look is definitely more unique. The features seem to better like you guys pointed out and doesn't the deluxe have better power delivery with the 16+2 verse the sabertooths 8+2?

Thank you guys for all your help

better power phase regulation, more pci-e lanes (slot3 runs at 4x and doesnt take the lanes from a 1x slot (like the pro)) and whats above.

The deluxe is a perfect board if you want to run SLI and then a 3rd gpu for accessory monitors and/or physx.

If you dont need it, the pro/sabertooth is a really good choice.

The maximus iv extreme is really just aimed at someone looking to run 3x HIGH end gpus. hence the added molex connector.

Plus any one who wants to run 3 GPU's and a sound card is out of luck. I use my 460s for my 2 displays, my gt220 for my hdtv and my essence stx's preouts for my headphone amp. Trust me id love to the IVextreme if i could, but it no workie =(

I have to admit the Extreme6 got my interest for its dearth of SATA ports (I like internal HDDs, having the option of 10 SATA drives got my fancy!) Thats actually what killed most of the Gigabyte boards from consideration, the fact most only have 6 SATA ports (RAID 0 + Backup + eSata + optical = 1 free leaves me little room for expansion in the future)

I will definately be posting pics of it, I have a build log going already

-edit- as for my PCIe situation, I may run an SLI down the line and i have a sound card, I'm well catered for no matter what board i choose pretty much...
