Building a new rig for under $500, want to run these part over some people. Hoping you can recommend better parts, without increasing the price.

That doesn't seem like much of an upgrade from what you have now. You're better off keeping your existing processor and just upgrading the motherboard/ram/gpu/hdd

Oh. Ok well if that's the case. For that price, those components look good (Moderate to Light Heavy Gaming). You should overclock the system for him though.
