Budget or spend the extra money?

Basically I'm looking at two builds now and i plan on ondering 1 in the summer. One option is to go as cheap as possible while still maintaining the ability to OC, and game decently while tho other option is to go with an 2500k build, with a nice stylish case good quality parts and can game much better than the previous... sleeving, a black and white colour scheme.

Option 1:

AMD Phenom II x4 965
Gigabyte 890FXA-UD5
Powercolor Radeon HD 5770
Antec Truepower New 650W
Seagate Barracuda 500GB
Coolermaster Elite 370
Corsair XMS3 4GB 1600mhz 9-9-9
Sony Optiarc DVD burner
Hyper 212+
and 6 fans for additional cooling

Total (after MIR) = $730

Option 2:

i5-2500k
Gigabyte P67A-UD4
Sapphire HD 6950
Seasonic X-560
Seagate Barracuda 500GB
Fractal Design Arc Midi Case
Corsair XMS3 4GB 1600mhz 9-9-9
Sony Optiarc DVD burner
Corsair H60
and 4-6 fans for additional cooling

Total (no MIR) = $1125 + $70 for sleeving materials. I'm assuming the Arc Midi will be around 100 dollars.

I would be much more satisfied with the option 2, it would be faster, sleeker, quieter, and just perform better. but is it really worth it? Maybe I could go down to a 6850 and save another 100?

My vote is for option #2. I was trying to wait untill the summer for bulldozer but I made the mistake of ordering the new corsair 650d. After that I was hooked. Building a sandy bridge set up similar to yours.

What size monitor do you game on. The 6950 just droped to around 250ish , great card for the money.

If you have the means, go all out; in this case, that's option 2. You'll be happier down the road.

You'll get very close fps on both machines for gaming if using the same video card. If anything, spend a little bit more on the video card on the first setup. The video card is where you should be spending the most money.
