My ping in games is perfectly fine, everything downloads at full speeds, and all internet pages load just fine. Vent appears to be the only thing that's affected. I'm completely baffled by this. At first I thought my ISP was throttling me, but as I said, everything else functions correctly.

Does anyone have any ideas about what could be up?
Do you use a router? Can you bypass it and see if the ping times are any better?

Or he could use traceroute like suggested and see where the problem is then would not have to bypass anything.

A malfunctioning router may give intermittent problems though. One tracert and it could be fine, another could show it being a high ping. At least, my router did that when the firmware was haywire. Flashed to DD-WRT and haven't had ping problems since.

IF that was the case then he would know the router is the problem. traceroute FTW!

Thanks for the tips guys. I'll run a tracer and post back the results if it starts to happen again (I'm sure it will around 5PM). As for the router question, yes, I am on a router. I tried connecting directly and I still had the issue.

Also, lol @ Africa.

Well, it took longer tonight, but it's finally acting up again. My ping is bouncing around from 47-1400. Heres the tracert I just ran:

I'd do a ping loop to 4, 6 and 7 to see what happens.
Seems like your ISP is alright, but your connection gets raped once it gets onto AT&T..
