Okay so I'm trying to fix a family computer, I figured updating drivers would help. Anything I try to install says this program supports xp or higher or something, well how do I get it to read this machine as XP lol? It's already validated I believe so.....idk. Help?

So I went to install Avast, error log here:

There's a pretty key thing here

11.03.2011 23:39:35 system: Operating system: Windows95 ver 4.0, build 950

That would indicate to me that it's windows 95...

Its def Windows XP though. I'm guessng the bugger is trying to trick the OS into thinking its 95, so no recent anti virus software can delete it. Ill try safe mode later.
