Help with my new x58

Thread Starter
OK this is a strange one and I'm not 100% sure where to post so sorry if this is the wrong place!
I have a brand new build with a strange problem for some reason at complete random my sound will cut out completely until I restart the PC now this has only been happening since I put my new EVGA 260GTX SSC 216 card in, I haven't hooked the cards SPDIF pass through so that's not the problem and I have no clue as to why and how this is happening.

Right the PC its all new parts,
Intel i7 950
EVGA x58 SLi3 motherboard
EVGA 260GTX SSC 216 Graphics card
Seagate Barracuda 500GB SATA II HDD
Tungen 750w PSU
Windows 7 Home Prem

On-board sound

Now when I had my old 8800GTX hooked up to this rig before I got the new GPU the sound was fine never had a problem but since putting the 260GTX in I have this strange random problem, and by random I mean just that it can go for days with no probs at all or it can go for a few hours and each time it happens I am doing something different wather it be playing games or watching videos or just browsing the net, theres never one thing that sets it off.

Now thinking it was my mobo I put in a SB Audigy I have in my other PC (this card works 100%) and still the same random cuts?!?!?

I have even done a full system format and reinstall to see if that would fix it and still nothing frown.gif

Not sure if anyone can help but no harm in asking

Have you tried updating to the latest drivers or switching the sound card into a different pci (e) slot? Also be sure that your onboard sound is disabled in the Bios.
