How does the Denon stack against HD600 or DT880? Since it's a low impedance HP, It wont need an amp.

Noob question about amp: If I use FiiO E9 + HD600 (*instead of a more higher quality amp like Asgard*), will the Audio Quality be less than the Audio Quality that I would get by directly plugging the HD600 to Titanium HD's HP port?
No. An amp just amplifies ftmp. In fact, I'm not positive the HD will drive the HD600s. You may require the amp to even get good sound out of them.

Maverick A1 Hybrid Amp is readily availiable here. Does anyone have any experience with this? Is it good enough?

I've heard a lot of praise about that amp on head-fi. Check this thread out. Maybe it'll answer some questions you have.

So the amp is going to be Mav A1 and SC is Titanium HD.
Now I gotta decide between HD 600 or DT 880 600ohm.

The better gaming headphones are the HD600s. They're great for music with lighter bass.

The DT880s are still good for gaming, but better for music with heavier bass.

I'm confused about this a bit.. will heavier bass drown out footsteps/gun-reload sounds, when there is gunfire/explosion going all around you at close range?

Compared to HPs with less bass, sure. Less distortion from the bass blaring through, but both are pretty high end headphones so it won't be as bad as the bass on lower end headphones.

I have to tell you though. I'm pretty biased against Beyerdynamic. You either love them or hate them really. I just don't think they should be used for gaming, but they can be and many will argue they're great for gaming. I just don't think so. To each their own though! Some people like to be immersed in explosions and other bassy sounds.

It's sort of like the Beyer DT880s are the HD555s (or 595s) and the HD600s are the AD700s.

Maybe not the best analogy, but that's sort of how it works for me.

Maybe not the best analogy, but that's sort of how it works for me.
I've moded a HD555 to HD595 (I call it 5595 ) and I use that even now. Most folks say that it sound very similar to original HD595.

One thing I've noticed is that AD700 is superior to 5595 when it comes to low player pub games and Scrims. But when I'm in 18/20 player S&D server and rushing through smoke, nade and gunfire, many a time I didn't hear enemies running around near me. But when I use my 5595, sometime I've actually heard them moving around in abovementioned situation.

But where AD700 beats 5595 is the fact that, with the AD700, once I hear tiniest of audio cues, I exactly know where it came from. With the 5595, the positioning of small audio cues is a bit *vague* compared to 700s.

But when I play SP games I look forward to enjoy the atmospheric music and all, rather than positional cues. That's why I prefer to use my 5595 over AD700 when it come to SP games.

Since both HD600 and DT880 are high-end models and are definite step up from 5595/AD70, even if your analogy is half-correct, I think I should go with the Beyer DT880.
