Why would I have 4+4Pin ATX12 and EPS?

as in title, why would I need 2, 4 pin atx12v connectors and a separate EPS connector? My new PSU has it but not sure why when they could just put the 2, 4pins?

What really gets me is why some include a 4-pin AND an 8-pin, when they could just as easily made it a 4+4...hardwired into a "modular" PSU no less lol. I've got an Antec TruePower New 750W and OCZ ModXStream 500W that are both like this.

That's to avoid paying the $1.00 licensing fee to Topower to use the 4+4-pin design. Doesn't sound like much, but those licensing fees and such can add up.

Hold on a minute
Are you sure you're not confusing one for a PCI-E 8-pin?

$1 per unit? Yeah that would add up pretty quick!

funny, my 4+4 didn't fit in either of my mb atx 8-pin. I had a spare atx 8-pin connector laying around and switched it. Doesn't improve or increase anything by having both plugged in for my setup other than its being utilized and its out of the way
