As Fukushima reaches a tipping point, more reports are coming in, which question how unpreventable this was. The earthquake and tsunami helped fuel this fire, but according to the Christian Science Monitor, the Japanese government and the plant owners are now being accused of cutting safety corners.

i like how they keep saying "this is the first time since world war 2 that japan has recorded so many victims from a natural disaster"... so nuclear bombs are a "natural disaster"?

OP timeline updated. I will be updating the status of each reactor and general status of the Fukushima Daiichi power plant later this evening once new information is released. It's becoming rather lengthy and difficult for people to determine what's happened lately.

You could use the spoiler feature to separate past events from current events; it would make it much easier to read. If you'd like I can work spoilers in for you.

I'd consolidate the older news into newer posts and provide just the links in the OP to those posts.
