I've started to notice the same thing as well. I only have 1 rig working full time right now with a gpu3 client(waiting on some parts for the next ones) and have been doing a lot of experimenting with it. i7 2600k @ 4.9ghz makes more points than the hit I take on my 570 folding while -smp 8. All my other rigs won't even gpu fold (since they're going to all be ubuntu most likely--unless something changes soon).
