Beyond frustrated with win 7 pro 64 install... Please help

Thread Starter
Please help, I am at my wits end here...win 7 pro 64bit clean install on my rig as below. I have installed now about 7 times. Installs take between 30-60 min. System is never fully stable "random freezes and hangs that don't recover" resulting in having to hard boot several times to get back into windows or safe mode. I have installed in both sata II and III ports, in ACHI and IDE modes (changing to AHCI though registry) my current bios settings are XMP mode enabled, AHCI enabled on sata III ports, EIST disabled. But I have also tried it in bios defaults.
System file checker will not complete in safe mode or windows mode due to hangs, task manager only opens if I'm currently not having an issue.
CPU temps are 38/39/38/39.... GPU temps of 42.
During some stable periods I have ran some benches like 3dmark11, heaven, Prime95 for two hours only with no issues, memory is supported and all sticks seem to be functioning. I think the drivers for logitech keyboard may have something with it because it seems the problems get worse around their install and persist after removal. But the install times after format seem abnormal and logitech has nothing to do with that because I install with a PS2 keyboard. Startup repair just tells me that it cannot fix the issues after about an hour. I have no idea what to do now. I have exhausted my ideas and myself.

I can't see this being a Logitech driver issue... I have a G110 with drivers install on my
x58 system no problem (like many, many others)... I not a betting man but, if I had to I'd say it's a hardware issue...

by the way Welcome to the Forums!

Test your RAM with memtest86+. Most freezing errors are usually caused by bad hardware, usually bad RAM.
Yeah, I'm thinking hardware, I'm guessing your installing to the SSD? Have you tried the HDD with the SSD removed? Also I'd grab Memtest86+ and check the memory before anything else.

Try each stick of ram seperately, have you set the memory voltage correctly?

Edit - Looks like new ram then

After weeding out the 2 bad sticks of ram with memtest I decided to clean install using the one renaming 4GB Stick...reset bios to default, set sata 6 / 7 to AHCI and booted from install disk. Installation "seemed" to go a little faster... Still about 30 minutes from start to finish. I used ps/2 mouse, keyboard and unhooked 1TB storage drive for install. But I am still getting freeze ups about every 5-10 minutes of use that need a hard reboot...and i cannot use task manager to close programs that are "not responding" because it wont launch in that situation. The freeze ups can occur doing anything from opening control panel to Internet explorer to running AS SSD benchmark. It's weird and I don't know how to fix it...I'm gonna try sfc /scannow again and see if it can actually complete this time...

Any ideas?
