Beyond frustrated with win 7 pro 64 install... Please help - Page 2

Is it a hard lock, no BSOD but the computer just locks up and non-responsive? If so I'm gonna say that's generally a CPU issue. I'm betting that ram is fine.

you should try using the linux mint live cd, then use partiton editor and then take out all but 2-4 gib of ram, then install windows 7, then once it's installed test and see if stable, then you can put back in all the ram.

I was just going to say don't use the XMP profiles. Probably stressing your RAM too much and the integrated bridge.

Ouch bad SSD too? Good luck with your RMAs! Two good companies so you shouldn't have any problem.

Just a quick update, Its all seems to come down to a defective SSD. My memory it seems is fine as Mushroom Boy stated. It seems the Memtest boot disk just didnt like testing it all together..."my bad..I know better" Anyway, I retested with the version of Memtest that opens in windows and open 4 instances (one for each core) and spread my RAM about and everything tested fine...its running in my rig as we speak without a single hiccup. Everything is golden now that I installed on my HDD. After investigating, the Crucial rep agrees that the drive is the culprit.....
I appreciate all the quick responses and help...Thanks guys!
