My BC2 finally works!!
My solution for make it work is -
1. uninstall pb
2. restart
3. install pb, and test it in installer(test must go without any errors)
4. install prebeta 11.4 drivers
5. turnoff msi afterburner
6. set gpu vent at 80% in ati control panel
7. set +20 in ati overdrive
8. play the game without of any problems....

I even tried to take off my pci soundcard which i installed just because of those errors with bc2 since 09.03.2011, and return to use my realtek onboard audio, and even with it my game works flawlessly now!
So in my case problem was punkbuster interfears with msi afterburner and blocks/freeze pc. I now must find some other gpu vent manual regulating software....

The only solution for me so far is closing Afterburner down before I hop in bc2.

Closing MSI Afterburner was also a fix for my system. I was having freeze probems as soon as the PunkBuster update came online on 3/9/11.

Yeah, sucks that we can't use MSI Afterburner, now I don't feel safe playing without knowing my card temperatures in-game frown.gif

Anyways, could any of you try this? Go into your BIOS and disable the onboard audio, like this user did:

http://www.overclock.net/12721409-post163.html

Then, open up MSI Afterburner, and try to play Bad Company 2, see if it crashes with onboard audio disabled but Afterburner opened.

Would really appreciate if any of you who had freezes before could try that.

I didn't know closing after burner would fix this. I was getting it as well. It'd only be a 15 second lock up at the round start, but it was getting annoying. Thanks! Good to know it's not a system issue for me.

The support is trying to get me to set the affinity to a dual core and is trying to say that is the fix for it. It made things so much worse lol, lock ups and unplayable without the lockups. I don't think their techs have been told about the Punk Buster thing...
