Patriot Signature any good?

Thread Starter

I've been considering a SSD for a bit, mainly for win7. Possibly a game or something depending on the amount of space left. From what I've read though, it just makes the OS run a bit faster. Is there a point if I run my rig 24/7?

Has to be on Amazon only, broke as a joke right now..but I've got like $60 in Amazon credit. Or would I be better off just getting another Barracuda 500gb 7200rpm?

Edit: I'm coming from some six year old 250gb pos that's finally dying.

Patriot Inferno is one of the faster more awesome drives around, not sure about signature though, it doesn't look like it uses the same components. However if you're really that broke I'd probably suggest going with a slightly cheaper (but still very solid) and larger drive, like a vertex 2 or something. Not sure how they're priced on amazon though. Looks like they're OOS for 30gb

Unfortunate thing about amazon is they don't look to have great HD prices. I would have recommended a spinpoint as a cheap alternative but the prices on those aren't that good on amazon either.

Maybe get yourself an ADATA 64gb or vertex 2 64gb and call it a day if you can outlay a little more scratch?
