HELP... i think my pc is dead - Page 3

I have no freakin' idea on why the hell you can't boot into bios.....

Try booting into bios with just your bare components; mobo+cpu+ram. If you still can't boot into bios, then one of those three is the problem

Did you even READ the thread? He can't even get into the BIOS, that's why no one has said anything about setting the option to disable restart upon BSOD.

ok so i reset cmos.. i still get the black screen.. i cant get it to the biso and the BSOD was only on for a few sec did not see what it said... i did test my ram in another pc and it ran fine.. its 2 sticks of 2gb
I did, did you? I think every help the OP can get is useful to find the solution to his problem. Anyway /ignored.

@OP which video card are you using, and what psu you got?

I have seen problems where the PSU would power the computer (make lights go on, fans run) but wont have to much juice to make the pc stable, if you have a spare psu that you can try, it would be great. This way you will be eliminating part by part. Just make sure you ground yourself.

I'm trying to think what was the problem with a pc I had a long time ago, I guess I never really figure it out for sure, but I use to have a compact pc, where it would give me BSOD at all the times, and more often as the computer was on to a point where I couldn't get it stable anymore. I'll see if I can find anything that can be helpful...

Sounds like you have trouble shooting to do, but you have a good basis to work it out. You have tested ram and it won't boot at all with everything unhooked like drives and such. So do what was said before, swap power supplys, and then you have 2 basic options if it stills acts up. Motherboard or cpu. As long as you were not overclocking or anything, I would point my finger towards the motherboard, which is also the most difficult to replace since everything is attached to it. And often you can't test the cpu.

Boot up the computer again, and let it sit with the sound on. Might be a video problem, but it still boots fine. If you hear the Windows logo, its a video problem. If you don't, its something else.
