If you want good low light performance in a point and shoot, look into the Canon S90 or S95. For your budget, that's about as good as it gets. If you want even better, that would mean a DSLR, which would be out of your budget unless you bought really old used models.

So the easy share one is no good then? hmm i thought it was such a great deal

Well the main thing im going to be doing is taking pics of my builds. I might try and learn about setting up a backdrop and some lighting to take really nice pics.

you really think the s90 and s95 are the best bet for me beside dslr?

Thank you for info also and help =]!

Definitely.

The Easy-share is actually my last choice out of those three listed. Impressive looking body, but you should know that fancy body =/= performance.

The S90/S95 are small, compact cameras yet offer better low light shots than any of those three cameras listed. They'll suit your needs well.

Make sure though to read up on photography techniques. Cameras are only a part of the equation; knowing how to take good photos matters much more.

Yea i was looking at the photo shot that was done with just an iphone so it does show skill makes up a lot of it.

What do you guys think is a good beginner dslr camera on the cheap side no really a budget just want to see what the light price range is.

Thank you guys a lot for the advice this is very helpful for me.

I really think i just liked that body and the easy share feature because i have a eprint printer so i could just auto print pictures from it.

If taking shots of your rig is all you're going to do with a new camera, then get any cheap digicam and tripod mount it.

Kodak is definitely not renowned for the quality of their point and shoot digital cameras. The companies that currently make the best P&S (in terms of performance and value) are Canon, Panasonic, and Fuji.

For DSLRs, you could get a Canon Rebel XS with kit lens for under $500 or a Nikon D3100 for a little more. About the cheapest it gets without buying used or refurbished (either of which is a good idea, people buy used/refurb DSLRs a lot).

On the cheap side: Used is your best friend. You can usually find an older camera like the Canon Rebel XTi or Nikon D40 for $300 or so. Canon Loyalty Program is another option, where you trade in a broken Canon point and shoot (they can be bought on Ebay for <$20). A T1i with kit lens can be had for $479.99, and a T2i with kit lens can be had for $511.99 this way. If you do go DSLR, be sure to get the IS/VR version of the kit lenses, as they're optically superior to the non-IS/non-VR versions.

Personally, while auto printing is a nice feature, I'd rather focus on the camera itself first. All the bells and whistles can't make up for image quality, IMO.

If you want, you can check out the guide in my sig. It goes into entry-level gear a bit, and it might help you out.

I know I'm shooting myself in the foot here by saying this (since I'm trying to sell my T1i) but Target stores that have them in stock are selling the T1i Kits for $549 on clearance at the moment (last two I went to at least). The reason it's shooting me in the foot is because I'm trying to get that for just the body (but with a battery grip, extra batteries and some other stuff).

But yeah, these suggestions are pretty well on par. Check out Target at the moment, I saw a bunch of Canon P&Ss on clearance that might be up your alley.

Save and get an SLR.. I have an older Konica Minolta 5D with a 70-300 and a 18-70 I would be willing to sell. Its a great camera and uses the Sony Alpha mount lenses.

Good Luck

S95 is the best money you'll ever spend. I don't know why ANYONE would buy a point and shoot other than that.
