Little Help With A New Build

Thread Starter
Hi Guys,I am new at Overclock.net i would ask you for some help about my new build.
I think you all see my current pc,if not its a X2 7750 on a Asus m3a78-Em + 4x1gb supert ddr2 800mhz(a good oc Mems) and a 4770 512mb sapphire

So On the question:I am planing an upgrade of the current rig with this:
Mb-Asrock 880GMH\USB3
http://www.asrock.com/mb/overview.asp?Model=880GMH/USB3
CPU-AMD Athlon™ II X2 250 or AMD Athlon™ II X2 255 which should i pick?
Which will oc better maybe the 250?
RAM- Super Talent 4GB DDR3-1333 CL7 Dual Channel Kit ( W1333UX4G8 )
• 4 GB
• Speed 1333 Mhz
• Data Rate PC3-10600
• Module Config 256M x 64
• Chip Config 128M x 8
• CL 8-8-8-24
• Heat spreader

I've googled the rams but no good info about it,the asrock mb is good i think but the lack of sata6gb.......?
I cant decide so this is why i am here, for you help smile.gif
The new build will be used with the ac freezer 64pro,the 4770 sapphire and with my current fortron pnr 300w
Also i will overclock the system so is the cpu,ram and mb good for oc?
i will get all this for 160euro here at bulgaria and this is the max i can spend.
Also will the 128mb sideport mem + HCrossfire better than the 4770 only?
I am sorry for my bad english, and i will answer any questions for the both rigs.
Thank all of you for the help smile.gif

It should work but that RAM seems a bit odd
Description: 1333 CL7
Actual specs: 1333 CL8?

You should never buy a 1333 CL8 kit, they're about as good as CL9 aka generic and there's usually better-priced RAM available
I don't believe it has ACC, but not necessasry for Athlon II x2; nothing to unlock. It'll run cooler than the 7750 due to lower TDP.

Well i am a fan of SuperT,i will check those timings tomorow when i see the sticks, yes it has ACC,yes the Athlon 250 has no disab. cores but when i get my hands on PHENOM2 550 or 555 i will have two cores sitting and waiting for me to unlock them smile.gif Have anyboby unocked cpu cores with that mb?If the mem is CL7 then should i buy it?my last supert rams was very good oc's 960hmz at 4-4-4-12 when the stock was 5-5-5-15 800mhz
1066mhz 6-6-6-18 but with 2.2volts

I don't recommend unlocking on that mobo. It is a low end unheatsinked 4+1 phase and won't be up to the task without some safety issues.
The new memory is DDR3, from the looks of it your current memory tech is DDR2.

I would say they are not all that great. Plus thats not really the type of board you should be overclocking on, with no vrm cooling.

Also I have to say this isn't much of an upgrade. You probably won't even really notice a difference from your current system. I would save up some more cash until you can get a quad and a better board.

Plus I would say that ram is nothing special. Your better off with some decent 1600 ram if you plan to OC and not black edition chip. Will give you a little more headroom.

Not good good a choice for RAM. You can probably find a 1333 CL7 or 1600 CL9 kit for the same price, would be much better in all scenarios. Higher speed RAM for OC-ing via bus clock can be important to keep it going and not hold anything back.
