Question about a 3TB internal drive ( Win 7, 64 bit)

Thread Starter
I m about to get the WD30EZRSDTL . I will be using it for secondary storage on my pc running windows 7 premium 64 bit.

Question is do i need to use the HBA in order for windows to see the full 3tb space ?

No you won't need to do anything special to get windows to recognize your drive and see it. AFAIK the main problem lies in wanting to boot off the drives, and if you have a UEFI capable system you could even boot off the drive without the HBA in win7 64bit.

I think you have to format to gpt not ntfs to see more than 2tb. not 100% sure but i thought i read that somewhere...

NTFS is a file system, GPT is a Partition table, not the same thing.
