thanks, just leave teh QPI at what it is if its stable. You might be good for a few more MHZ, but there is no reason to increase Vcore over what you have for 24/7 usage. 4.8ghz on a hexa core is more than enough for 24/7 lol.

Thanks for your reviews on this board. I'm looking at the Sniper for an upgrade, and both of your reviews have been helpful.

On my x58a-UD7 (v.1.0), when I try to use EasyTune6 (even the latest version), I've noticed that it's hardware polling causes DPC latency spikes at whatever interval you have the software set to poll (default is 3 seconds.) I reported this on Gigabyte's forums, and it was noted by other users, as well. Because of this I use Speedfan instead of Easytune to adjust fan speeds (although on my board I only have one MB-controllable fan, unlike the five on the Gigabyte Killer series of boards.)

Does EasyTune do this on this board as well?

I have found some much earlier versions of ET6 work a lot better. Can't recall which version but if I come across it I will post it or upload it.

i know someone who just bought this because his killer NIC and sound card won't fit in his board with his SLI.

i'll be setting it up in the next week or two so i'm sure i'll be back to this thread.

thanks for the great review.

no problem, yea this board is sick. And hey yes the DPC thing just like you said with easytune, ill try older versions, even though i always have easytune on anyway, and i don't see any bad DPC effects like sound problems or anything.

Thanks for the test. I've tried EasyTune versions since I got the UD7, around mid 2010, and always the same thing. Likewise, I haven't noticed anything adverse, but I thought I'd err on the side of caution.

I use Speedfan to control the only PWM fan on the UD7, which can control your fans and access system temps just like EasyTune, but it does take a bit more configuration to get set up. And no DPC issue with Speedfan. Once setup you can just forget about it, just run it as a scheduled task with highest privileges at logon and you are good to go.

I imagine you can do the same with this series of boards.

The killer nic works good and is not snake oil, same for x-fi. This board will not disappoint you. My 3 580 GTX SC cards eat it up.

Hey Sin,

Could you post your Full Bios for a stable 4.8ghz like you did for the 5.2ghz if possible. Please
