SB build & questions !

Here's the build (price in cdn $), questions follow

CPU: i7 2600K 309 $ (lowest)
Because I will likely overclock and some of my applications will use HT (Matlab)

Board: P8P67 171 $ (lowest)
Didnt see the need for the deluxe or pro

SSD: Intel510-120 Gb 296 $ (PM to 282 $)
Cant wait for the vertex 3 ! And I dont need further extra storage.

Memory: Gskill ripjaws 8 GB DDR3-1600 96 $ (PM to 88 $)
Seems to be suggested a lot on the forum

GPU: HD5770 129 $
This build wont be used for gaming at all. I just picked
an affordable card with reasonable spec (I think)

Cooler: H-212: 30 $
For the overclock (aim at 4 or 4.5 Ghz)

Case: Fractal R3 115 $ (lowest)
Suggested by forum users because i want a quiet good looking case

PSU: Antec650 70 $ (lowest)
Wont be using more than 1 GPU so I dont need the xtra power right ?

DVD drive: Samsung SH-S222A 27 $
not sure i need dual layer but its cheap anyway

1) Is this all compatible ?

2) Anywhere I can save without compromising much on the performance ?

3) If I chose not to overclock, getting a H67 board, no GPU, no "K" cpu, using the stock cooler, etc would save me quite a bit of money. But will the performance be noticeably lower ?

The hyper 212 is an extremely budget cooler. I'd try to put a bit more into that.

If you're talking about the antec truepower new 650 then it's fine.

The 5770 lasted me ages, it's perfectly fine for some light 1080 gaming.

As for your SSD, i'd go with 2 of these in RAID0

With the money you save you can get a better cooler and I would highly recommend a 1tb samsung F3 for storage and backups.

Comps

1- yes
2 and 3 - if you are not for gaming, there's no reason for a K edition. Overclock is used for a system with bottleneck.

Short of him putting 3 580GTX's in he won't bottleneck anything at the stock speed.

The % increase in clock speed does not translate into a % increase in overall performance ????
