power supply broken?

Hey earlier this week my pc shut down while i was watching a video :S and this afternoon i was editting and saving a video and it shut down again:S and few minutes ago i started trying edditing a video and saving it and it shut down again? is my power supply broken or is something else ****ed up?

It would help if you told us what your power supply is.

It could also be an overheating issue of the CPU, or a motherboard or hard drive or RAM issue. I'd only suspect the power supply if the power supply was particularly suspect.

well i dont know the eaxt name and product number and all of power supply i will have to open the pc up for that but i had overheating problems in the past though

Well find out for me what the brand and model # of the power supply is and I'll tell you if it's crap or not.

How do you feel about removing and opening up the power supply?

It can be your PSU, or CPU/GPU heat issue, or maybe just a bugged BIOS function.

PS: Or it can be a short circuit.
