Does anyone know a good HD 1080p monitor for a good price?

Also do I need a sound card with that motherboard?

I agree with most of the posters here saying go with Sandy bridge 2600K. Although I really do not think 8gb is nessesary, that 4gb pack your friend recommended is just rediculus. The blue g-skill ram you picked is good, consider getting just a 4gb pack of those.

Also that case you picked seams really tacky and overpriced. Check out this Thermaltake V4 which I have used in 2 builds for friends in the mast couple months. I price matched it down to 38$. Just buy two 120mm fans for the top, with led's if you want.

But really you should check out ncix.com if you are in Canada, they have this thing called price match where you can match any price from any Canadian website and get the lowest price for every part.

Use pricebat.ca or shopbot.ca to search for computer parts to see what site has the lowest price, then add them to your cart on ncix.com and price match.

Also check out whats available from their current sale.
