My keyboard is placed in the middle of the table and because of that my elbow or my forearm is rested on my big table and find the wrist rest unnecessary. But I guess if your keyboard is close to the edge of the table, then you might need it but then again you might find that you don't need it at all.

Is your keyboard placed by the edge of the table?
I have two positions. There's the gaming position and there's the position for browsing. The gamer positio my whole arm rests on the table but I use most of time. I guess I don't really need one since I'm comfortable enough with my layout. I will post a picture tomorrow.

the tough tactile feel seems like a no for gamers.
It will take some getting used to. I sometimes jump accidentally just because I rested my thumb on he space bar. It's epic with CSS though. Strafe stop is so much easier since the keys are springy and a small tap works.

Highly doubt there will be a backlit version any time in the near future. For backlit you really need to go for the BWU, Deck or a Xarmor.

Well yeah thats my point. No harder, but no "easier" either. I am not pointing at anyone in particular in this thread, but some people just expect too much from mechanicals in general. And by doing research i mean learning what you are getting into, basic things like stiffnes of blacks, clicky sound of blues etc. You know, at some places you just cant try them, so all you gotta rely on is your research.

Lo and behold the stiffness on the keys wore off after a few days. I even tested my wpm. With my old Wireless Desktop 3000 I was typing at a consistent speed of 70wpm, but when I tried the Blacks at first my wpm went down to 50wpm. After a few days of using the blacks, my wpm went back to my regular consistent speed of 70wpm.

Even if a person spends alot of time on research, there is still a big difference between living the experience than reading or watching it.

Besides no local walk-in electronic store has all the switches available for a person to try. Blue switches such as Razer BW/BWU are being sold at Best Buy, but it's online only. Black switches such as 7G is available at Fry's, but only a limited local Fry's store have it in stock.

If someone here doesn't like what they purchased even after breaking it in, then return it no problem. Online return policy nowadays are very flexible.

Also gas prices are going up, but the 30% discount makes it all better

I on the other hand like this keyboard two thumbs up
Yes, my first impressions were similar. I didnt expect miracles, but also didnt expect my wpm to decreas like that. I bought this keyboard mostly for gaming tho, so i cant complain.

Teach yourself to touch type... press the key down just till it register and your wpm will increase

Right, but my point is that the stiffness of the Black switches is relative, so inexperienced users doing their "research" keep reading about how stiff they are when the reality is they're really not that bad, again, really no worse than your average membrane, and thus they come to a misguided conclusion that Blacks are no good for what they're looking for when they might be fine if not perfect.

So unless someone in this thread is a discerning typist and buys a gaming oriented keyboard from a gaming peripherals manufacturer thinking it will help their WPM strictly because it has mechanical keys they are in the running for most naive person on OCN.

I dont bottom out the keys.. I type quite fast, but sometimes making typos. I just wrote my thesis on 6gV2. I am not saying its bad keyboard for typing, just not the best.

@bojinglebells: Good to see you have faith in people of OCN I guess i'v seen too many threads like "I bought XY mechanical and its nothing special ima gonna go back to my logitech"
