why is the cpu on the box an LGA chip and not a PGA?

Thread Starter
The last time the FX series was around, the processors were the fastest at the time,
and they were also as much as $1000.

Do you guys think BD's 8 core can outperform the 2600K? On paper it should, but I wonder... Can it also convincingly outperform the 990X in Multi-Threaded apps?

If the answer to those questions is yes, will the FX price tag follow?

I'd love to see a price war, that's for sure.

Although probably fake because the box claims "The World's First 8-core Processor", and the heatspreader looks like an Intel chip (which may change of course).

Still, I wan' it.

I don't see any single bulldozer chip being much over $400 at launch for the very BEST chip. I would imagine something slotted at the 2500K area would be $270 or so.

This leaked crap has to be fake. it's not even confirmed the CPUs won't have pins.

The CPU's will have pins... how else could an AM3 CPU would in an AM3+ socket?

I noticed that too. This is proof that this was not designed by AMD.

The CPUs will use AM3+ socket, and will be PGA as usual.

Well, it has to be, no companies manufacture boxes before they design them...
