ATI + Physx?

Thread Starter
I have 2x Radeon HD 5870 eyefinity 6
they have a lot of power but suck with any game whith physx on.
i have read online that it is possiable to use an ati and a nvida card togeather so that the nivida card is a physx card.

I was wondering if it is possiable to use only ati cards and have physx run through the CPU?

He wants to know if a cpu can be used to run physx. He is not looking to get a dedicated physx card.

Edit: I am assuming the answer is no.

Yes i know it is possiable to run an ati card with an nvida card as a physx card.

I wanted to know if it is possiable to not have an nvida card and have physx run through my cpu?

your cpu has nothing to do with physx, it's an nvidia tech...

i just want to know if with my 2 radeon hd 5870's could i enable physx in games and have it processed through the cpu.

if i want to get a dedicated physx card i will have to upgrade my mobo because there are only 2 PCIe slots.

Full list of games that require PhysX is here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PhysX

If your games are not those then don't bother with it...

Yes it is nvida tech. My brothers rig is nvdia and he has the ability through nvida software to slecet the physx processer. he can pick either of his two gts 450's or use his cpu for physx.

i know there are moddifyed drivers to support ati and nvidia togeather.

i just wanted to know if there is any way to force games to calculate the physx in the cpu instead of a softwere render like it does because i dont have an nvida card.
