First Build - Thoughs, Suggestions, Etc.

First time building my own PC. The intent is to build something capable of fairly top-end gaming, multi-tasking, multimedia, etc. Everything is ordered and on its way, except the case and power supply, which were ordered a bit earlier.

Intel i5-2500K Sandy Bridge
ASUS Sabertooth P67 TUF mobo
HIS Radeon HD 6970 2 GB video card
Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus CPU cooler
G.SKILL Ripjaw 1600 MHz RAM 2x4GB
Western Digital Caviar Black 640GB hard drive
Samsung Spinpoint F3 1TB hard drive
Cooler Master HAF X case
ASUS DVD-writer
Kingwin Lazer LZ-1000 1000-watt power supply
Windows 7 Home Premium

The intent is to set it up eventually with two 23" monitors in addition to the HDMI to the TV.

I really like it. A SSD would be an ideal boot drive, but that is the only thing I see.

Looks good overall. That power supply is definitely much more than you need though. You would have been fine with a 750W for a single 6970 or an 850W if you wanted to crossfire later

Thanks guys.

An SSD was a definite consideration and is an almost-certain upgrade down the road. I'm still just a little leery of some things I've read and figure that they will continue to drop in price. I probably would have stayed small if I did get one, which means it really just would have been for the OS and I didn't know if speedy boot times was worth that...

The power supply was part of a combo on Newegg with the case. I would have preferred to go with a better-known brand, but it was reviewed pretty decently and I couldn't beat the price. It did put me in a bit of a corner, as its not Crossfire-capable (only three six-pin connectors) so I went with a bit better video card now instead of a step or two down with the idea of adding a second card before long.
