Steam Deal?

The Total War collection deal on steam looks really tempting.

Rome
Medieval
Napoleon
Empire
Shogun 2

$65

I've already played Rome, and I really liked it. And I've heard equally good things about Medieval.

However, I played the demo of Shogun 2 and it was pretty fun, but not quite $50 fun.

And I don't think I'll find Napoleon and Empire all that fun, because I don't like the 18th century that much.

Should I just get Medieval for $3 (It's on sale), or buy the collection?

Or do you think these will all go on sale later on? Because I'd really like to try them all out one day for a good price.

Most people I know think Rome was the best so far. Even better then Medieval 2 which came after it. So with that said I dunno if the whole package would be worth it for you. You stated you don't think you'll like Napoleon and Empire and if you take the comments of others who feel Rome is better then Medieval I can't see the package being for you.

I will say though that in my opinion Medieval 2 was damn good. Regardless you'll probably not find a better deal on all the total war games for awhile so I'd say if you have any interest and are going to buy them at some point this would probably be your best chance.

Thanks for taking the time to respond to everything I said.

Right now it seems the best thing to do is to buy Medieval for the 3 bucks and just be happy. But at the same time I don't want to regret not getting the whole thing.

I guess the deciding factor is that when I played Shogun 2, although I really liked the atmosphere, it only felt like a graphically improved Rome with new GUI. All these games seem to merely be expansions of the same core game.

I feel that I'd get sick of these pretty quick (especially Empire and Napoleon). It's ashame, because I feel like I'm missing something. The game is fun, but I just don't see myself enjoying several versions of it. The game itself gets tiresome, and can be frustrating at times.

Medieval it is!
