The results showed that Kal-El is about 10% faster than Core 2 Duo T7200 processor which features 4MB of L2 cache and runs its two x86 cores at 2GHz.

However, the small print text which was written right under the CPU scores and detailed the specific setting used by Nvidia for performing this test, showed that Kal-El was run using a significantly optimized version of CoreMark compared to that used for the Intel system.

More specifically, the Kal-El version was compiled using one of the most recent versions of GCC (4.4.1) with the O3 flag enabled while the Core 2 Duo T7200 version was complied with GCC 3.4.6 and the regular O2 flag.

I tired searching if anyone posted anything about this and nothing came up. I though it would be something worth talking about.

Where did you get the power consumption? I far as I know Nvidia hasn't even any details, not to mention by the time this ARM chip comes out the t7200 will be celebrating its 5th birthday.

-A tegra 2 PC running at 1GHzx2 needs 3W
-28nm is delayed meaning tegra 3 will be built on the same 40nm as tegra 2
-Tegra 3 is supposed to run at 1.5GHz

If they try to build a notebook or tablet of the tegra 3 it will consume more power. AMD already has gotten their C-50 APU down to 5W but then again the 3W tegra 2 includes the power consumption of the whole system.

C`mon guys, we all know Jen and his company have had a lot of "woodscrew" moments and this does not seem to change soon...
