Crysis2 graphics

Ok yes here is another topic about it, may cause some controversy but i want to state a point or two.

Now i realise that alot of people had very high expectations for cry2 which is fine, but when i hear all the whining about it i just have to face palm

it seems that people are neglecting this fact.

just because crysis 1 was one of the prettiest games of its time, and so far still is, does NOT mean that cry2 would definitly be the BEST of its time.

There are alot of other pretty games out there that beat cry2 in the eye candy department.

Just cause cry1 was supreme for its time doesnt mean that cry2 will be, no one garunteed that.

also as far as the pc demo topic goes...

it sounds like crytek ported the consol demo to the pc for work saving purpouses only. They didnt make a pc demo so it would be cheaper and less time consuming so they could get the pc demo out to the imaptient pc gamers faster at small cost to the company.. meaning ALOT could change with the full version of the game, just wait and see.. but if its not so amasing it makes your overclocked trifire 6970's weep, dont get butthurt, just try and enjoy it for what it is, and download the latest graphics benchmark software instead.

Isn't it based on opinion though? Because I think Crysis 2 is on par with Crysis. Based on the screenshots/videos/multiplayerdemo etc...

Crysis 2 looks consistent, Crysis was not. That is a fact, I'd get some screenshots to back that statement up, but I really can't be bothered just to stress a point.

All im trying to say is people should be open minded. I think both games are incredibly pretty

The graphics of the second one are good for me, but in the demo, they have way too much bloom and motion blur, which I hate.

I'd still prefer playing BFBC2 cause it's fun, unlike crysis, which basically is a benchmark.

no pun intended though

IT would of have been fine if the jump hadn't been that big. The thing is, that this time, the jump wasn't there because because of technology but because they made a console game and focused on it.

They said things like: PC will look the best, etc etc etc. Of course it F-cking will, just adding some AA gives the game a way better look. But they ported the game so much that:
  • The Controls where consolized (specially the nanosuit)
  • The Multiplayer is cawadoody all over again.
  • The multiplayer was ported from consoles to PC (6v6, small maps, etc) (i understand there's a place for that, but blatantly copying COD with more graphics holds no value to me).
  • The fact that they will not release DX11 until 2 months after release shows how they're not focusing on the PC version of the game at all. They no longer want to make people shock with eyecandy like we did when Crysis 1 was released, what they want now is call of duty's audience.
  • Cryengine 3 is simply Cryengine 2 but optimized for consoles, Crysis 2 Therefore is a techdemo of what CRY3 can do on the consoles. The thing is, that they're late to it, and joining the battle the wrong way, i'm pretty sure Frostbite 2 will end up achieving more.
Here's a PROTIP: When it comes to corporations always assume they want to #$!$ you over (that's certainly the case here). They never want to help you, or exceed your expectations. They will release and inferior product and make it appealing through marketing.

Crytek Released such a crappy demo, and will release a crappy PC game because they want to save as much money as possible and because they couldn't care less about the audience. The people who they care about will always buy their games anyways.

Either you have misunderstood what a pun is or i'm too silly not to notice it .

remember, the demo is dx9 while the release is supposed to be dx10/11.

people REALLY need to wait for the full release before whining.
