*PICS* BC2 - VERY LARGE GAINS with i5-2500k upgrade from Q9650 Benchmarks - Page 25

Well, OP's Gigaflops on his 780i, q9650@4GHz system was right where they should be. I think I read something about a 750i motherboard earlier in this thread?

It could be other factors hindering that nVidia 780i setup, even though the Gigaflops was right in line.

Blacklac, I appreciate all your postings you have done in this thread. I have to admit I'm very impressed with the results that you are getting with the C2Q/P45/gtx560 setup that you have. It's definably performing better then my Q9650/780i/5870 setup and many other setups that I've seen 1st person at LAN parties.

I never did extensive or accurate tests between the 570 and the 5870 in my Q9650 system like I have with these 2 systems in this thread... I only had that 570 for a couple weeks about 2 months ago, I should have spent more time with it, but ended up taking the cheaper route and going with the 5870.

My buddy that lives here in AZ just put together a 2500k system and purchased a gtx560, I had him join the same server as me last night as we were in TS and from talking with him he was def getting more fps, I'm gonna have him head over to my house and I'll run some more tests.

Until then -cheers, as many of the users here say

780i? Ah...well that explains it, then. That's an Nvidia chipset, right?
I remember all sorts of problems with those chipsets back in the day (I believe striker II extreme used 780i). My P5w was a 975x express chipset (fast performance for its time, but horribly limited options and terrible for overclocking multiplier locked quads) and the p45 chipset was among the best for running quads on.

So I was right...it was a chipset issue.

I KNEW something was wrong when your FPS was almost the exact same, looking straight ahead, versus looking directly at the ground. Something definitely wrong getting 90 FPS looking at ground and ahead, while other high clocked C2Q's are over 120 there. On my Qx9650 and 4890, my FPS was significantly higher looking at the ground. Can't say what the uncapped fps was, as I never played with vsync off.

I have never seen proofs that the nVidia socket 775 motherboards are underperforming VS Intel socket 775 motherboards, other than people who are getting way too low Gigaflops on those nVidia boards. And people claiming they had nVidia 775 boards that infact was underperforming.

However, OP's nVidia 780i, Q9650 setup at least had normal Gigaflops results. Could be it is underperforming in other areas. We just don't know...

I want to find a P45 motherboard for my Q9650 rig to replace the 780i and see what kinda FPS improvements I get, if any...

Gigabyte EP45-UD3L, ASUS P5Q Deluxe, etc.

What have you guys seen these boards in used condition selling for on the boards?

lol, hella sketchy buying from you though since you have called me a liar multiple times in these threads. You would probably sabotage the mobo or something.

Real talk... may I ask why you are selling it? Also is it the same board that you have used in these tests?

LOL. I'm not selling it. I gave you a ballpark price for a used P5Q Deluxe. I bought it about a month ago.

Edit: Yes, my rig in my signature was used for all these comparisons.

Ya my roommate is the one who swapped out his 750i FTW mobo for the 2500k setup. His performance with a Q9550 was spot on with my 780i.
