Exactly, this guy gets it.

It's clear that A GTX570 performs better on every resolution than a HD5870..

CHEERS..
KingT, your missing the point.... they are testing with a i7-920 @ 3.8ghz not a Q9650@4ghz. This is exactly why I decided to purchase 6 different cards and benchmark myself, results online always use i79xx chips to benchmark and the results are COMPLETELY different from what you see in a C2Q setup.

I agree a 570 is faster then a 5870 in a i7 rig, but that isn't the case in a C2Q rig.

Also your coming at me with results you found online, I have ran through 6 different video cards in this C2Q rig and ran all the results myself and I also can have people vouch for me with results they saw 1st hand.

Come on guys, honestly do you think I'm trying to troll and post fake/false info??? These are real BC2 results, the hardware is real, nothing is not performing the way it's supposed to be. It's all on track.

Can a user on this board with a Q9650/9550 @ 3.7-4.0ghz with a 5870 who has BC2 installed please step up so I can show you how my performance in this Q9650 rig is on key.

Compare NVIDIA and Intel chipset mobo IBT results(google pics), I've ran Q9650 on both 750i and P45 mobo, P45 bandwidth is W-A-Y higher in IBT....

Similar is Prime95 Blend, for 750i, each large test (1024K etc) takes 3-4minutes, P45 does each in a minute or so

Regardless of CPU a GTX 570 is a faster card than HD5870..

If there was a CPU bottleneck then it would only make both cards perform the same (as CPU would be preventing a stronger GPU to shine)..

It would not make a weaker HD5870 to perform better than a stronger GTX570..

CHEERS..

Ya I agree that's what you would think, but in my scenario it wasn't the case. They were within a 7fps of each other, it wasn't that much of a difference.

Do you have a hardware store close to you that allows you to buy video cards use them for 30 days and return them with no restocking fees?

If so go pickup a 580, 5970(if they have it) and 6970 and see what kinds results you get in BC2 with your 4ghz Q9x50 rig.

The thing is nobody does this.

I have OC'd GTX480 that's even faster than a stock GTX580 and it performs beautifully...

Sadly I don't have BC2 any more as I have reformated my drive..

Just becouse it's allegedly hapenning to you doesn't mean that it's a valid benchmark results..

A Q9650 @ 4GHz simply cannot make a HD5870 to outperform a GTX570 and that's a fact.

^correction these results of 5870 Q9x50 BC2 performance is exactly the same for me, my roommate, 2 other people in my squad and 1 person at a lan party, we all have Q9x50's, the same 5870 video cards and similar mobo's except for one guy that has a Gigabyte P45 board.

I need some people to step up that have BC2, lets do come comparisons.

If your CPU is pegged at 100% in BC2 it doesn't make a difference what card you have, your performance is gonna be capped. I also had a $600 2gb 5970 in my rig and it wasn't performing any better then this gtx570 I was testing out, it was at 30% gpu usage. Check out the bencmark sites the 5970is the best performing card in BC2... I was shocked to see this and ever swapped it out for another card and the results were consistent. I even installed it into another Q9x50 rig and it performed exactly the same.
