Your running a Q9550 @ 4.3M and a GTX570 which is pretty similar to my Q9650/P45 P5Q/5870 setup so you should be seeing similar results.

It honestly depends on what you consider to be a fps problem?

I don't think you understand what's going.... My Q9650/5870 setup gets up to 100-140fps in the 32man servers at spawns and locations where not much is action is going and I can hit the 200fps peak looking at the sky in some locations with full graphics settings, everything on highest, but sometimes it drops to 60-65fps in heavy action, this drop is very noticeable to me since I'm on a CRT @ 100hz. The 2500k system with the same video card at the same spot on the map in the same server isn't at 65fps it's 90-95fps, that 25-30fps difference is HIGE in gameplay smoothness. This is caused by CPU bottlenecking, the Q9650 CPU isn't powerful enough to feed the GPU and GPU usage starts to drop because of this, often it hits 70-75% mark in heavy action. The 2500k 5870 usage is pegged at 100% ALL THE TIME. This is the main difference between Q9650 and 2500K.

I do admit going from a xfx 780i to Asus P45 board did help out alot, before the motherboard upgrade I was getting much lower fps overall.

I've tested out (6) different video cards over a 3 month period in my Q9650 rig... The gtx570 performed worse then my 5870 at 1600x1200 2xAA 16xAF high settings with HBAO off in BC2 due to CPU bottlenecking... KEEP IN MIND THIS IS IN BC2!

Why didn't you quote the above statement? I wrote that. It was only about a ~7fps difference and the testing of all (6) difference video cards was done on my 780i board not my new P45 board. The gtx570 which I had clocked at 900mhz (580 speeds) in a 2500k system would dominate over my 5870 in BC2 performance, especially the fact that the 570 handles higher levels of AA much better.

Remember when the the CPU is creating a bottleneck the GPU can't perform like it should... another good example of this would be when I tested out the ati flagship card for BC2, the giant 2GB 5970 which I had clocked at 5870 speeds... it performed exactly the same as my single 5870 in BC2.... Q9650 bottleneck FTL

Bad Company 2 has MIN and recommended system requirements. When will they come out with MAXIMUM requirements?

That way I can get the proper hardware to setup for maximum fun....

You need either a C2Q @ 4.0 & GTX570, or a i7-2600k @ 5.0 & GTX295, or a SSD

But if you ask a sane, reasonable person, we would say your doing just fine with your current rig.

If anything you could use more CPU MHz..... But not for any other reason than this is Overclock.net, not goodenough.net, not okfornow.net, not ..... you get my point...

We have "enthusiasts" who call others out for being "enthusiasts" and not having a certain drive... Yet that "enthusiast" has watched 3 new intel sockets come out, new AMD 6 core cpu's, and still rocks a C2Q

These people are

Come see me in BC2 so I can frag out on your arses while your standing around looking at your FPS
