finally i got the Contac 29 and it really gave me a BIG adding to my CPU`s heat and most important........ the noise

but i have questions:
1-because of the socket on my GIGABYTE 870 i had to place it with 90 degrees rotation (the fan faces down ) does that matters the cooling performance??

2- i noticed that all my hardware got more heat after the new cooler (e.g my HDD normally is 25c now its 35c) does the cooler or the fan direction cause this??

thanx and sorry for late posting

Pretty sure you can switch the fan to the other side of the heatsink, the cooler afterwards does support push-pull setups.

so the rotation is no big deal ......or it is?
cause the fan is not pushing hot air down to the rest of the parts it does it directly upwards
and i think that coolers with vertical fans usually depends on the system fan to make some kind of air stream, seem stupid but is there is any way to install the cooler in the right position?????????

im asking about that cause i didn't see any one who had the cooler installed like this.......

thanx

What are you talking about "the fan is not pushing hot air down to the rest of the parts"?!

The CPU cooler (in particular tower designs) should push the air either towards the back where most if not all modern cases have a fan or towards the top of the case (also many cases have fans on the top).

It shouldn't blow air neither towards the bottom of the case nor towards the front because the case can't push the hot air outside as well as in the other 2 situations.

I say Coolermaster Hyper 212+ (but DON'T buy it on Newegg)
or Xigmatek GAIA SD1283
At the $30 range

At the $70 range you might want to look for the Thermalright Silver Arrow or NH-D14
