Custom computer maker in Tallahassee FL

Thread Starter
Not sure where to post or find this. I'll be having a computer built from scratch some time in the next few months. I want to find someone from the Tallahassee area who can build it for me and is very familiar with overclocking and setting up lapped CPU's, liquid cooling, etc.

All the little mom and pop PC places around town don't seem to be really familiar with the overclocking scene. Does anybody know anyone who I can pay to do this around my area? Thanks.

I have an idea of what needs to be done, but I'm not savvy enough to know what I'm doing. And I'd rather pay someone a hundred bucks or so to do it with me rather than do the research myself that would be required.

Well your definitely on the best forum to learn. Believe me it's not worth it to pay to have someone else do a couple of clicks for you just to overclock. I learned on here and have oc'd my q6600 to 3.2 and just got my buddy's AMD Athlon 2 x3 445 to 4.1ghz@ 1.43

But you'd get much more satisfaction and sense of accomplishment if you did it all by yourself. Plus YOU are better equipped to handle issues if you have the knowledge yourself.

I also think you're killing your chip. The E6600 was my first chip when I started OCing. If you need that many volts to maintain that, maybe back it off a bit, or start shopping for a new chip.

sccr64472 did this last PC- but it was kind of a pain in the ass because I had to have all the components shipped to him in California I think, and then he had to ship the assembled computer to me. This time around I'd rather be in the room with the person doing it.

It's more about the hardware assembly than the overclocking. I'm not comfortable lapping CPU's, applying thermal paste, attaching liquid cooling systems and assembling mobo's onto cases. Just not my thing.

If you have an old computer lying around, rip it apart. That's how I got over that fear when I was a kid. Then put it back together and see it if works, troubleshoot as needed.

Guys- please stop telling me to DIY. Obviously that's not what I'm looking for.

If you know where I can look or who can help me, let me know. Thanks!
