What headphones should I buy?

Thread Starter
Hi guys,
I'm currently shopping for new headphones. I'm willing to use this for gaming, but also with my Ipod. I don't have any specific demands, except that the headphones must be full ear cover cups, I want my ear to be fully covered (all around). It can have a mic or not, no big deal. My max budget, before tax, is 100$ CAD. Here are the ones I've been looking at:

Plantronics 79733-11 They look pretty cool and the mic can easily be hidden, which is cool for public listening...

Able Planet NC300BCC I've tried these in an airport store yesterday, I like them, I was impressed by the sound quality for the price. I'm not sure about the effectiveness of the sound cancelling though...even with it on, I could hear still hear people talking around me (practically inaudible, but still there...)

Panasonic RP-HC700-S They are well reviewed on newegg and the noise cancelling is known well working.

Thanks in advance!

I once burst out laughing at someone wearing beats.

Then I put my K518's on and walked past.

On topic, why don't you pick up a pair of JVC HARX700's and a Zalman ZM-Mic1, the mic is a clip on mic that you can put on your sweater or the headphone cable, both of these combined are a deadly combination for gaming.

You might also consider the Sennheiser HD201's, cheap as anything but also a great entry level pair of cans, for both music and gaming!

If you want looks and quality sound for sub $100 CAN:

Alienware Ozma 5 (OEM'ed Ultrasone HFI-550 / HFI-580 / DJ1; Canadian seller)

http://cgi.ebay.com/Alienware-OZMA-5...item4156156a43

Serious reply. Get them. Guys, remember that headphones, are treated by many people as a status symbol like other fashion assessories. You can have both quality sound and looks. Yes, it is an exception at lower price ranges but the Ozma 5 is an exception and suits the need perfectly.

Sony MDR XB-700.

http://www.iheadphones.co.uk/media/c...DR-XB700_3.jpg

They produce bass like crazy, rated down to 3Hz.

I can actually turn the bass to +12dB where most headphones just produce crackle and this just keeps on pumping.

It's like having two sub woofers, cosy ones at that, strapped to your head.

Best purchase I ever made.
