Well it depends how often you upgrade, my 4850 was gettin old (2 years) and i was planning to upgrade it with a 570 (was 400$ tax and shipping in) but since i dont upgrade often i looked at the 560 ti, i've put 2 in sli (cost me about 500$) and i dont regret my choice i run metro 2033 all very high 0aa 4xmsaa with physX plus recording with fraps at avg 50fps

I don't think I would want to have just 512MB of VRAM on a 1080p screen* until kepler regardless of DX11, your looking at at least 9 months before there is something from kepler in the price range that your looking at now. I really think that 9 months of gaming is worth getting a card now. As for the decision between the two cards you basically have to decide if you would be happy with "enough" performance for your resolution in the 560 or if you want to jump up a price bracket and get "more than enough" for the 570.

* I realize the irony of me telling him not to stick with his current card when I am on a $20 graphics card also with 512MB VRAM but I will be ordering a 560 soon.

You think a 560 won't be able to handle BF3 at 1080p? I'd be surprised.

Since this is what the OP wants, then the choice is clear: GTX570.

Indeed

I got a 570 for my new rig, Not because my 460 was lacking, just because i needed to get a new card (Someone else is getting my old rig, and the 460 has to go with) and i felt that if im gonna spend the money, ill get a 570..My original plan was to do a 460 SLI setup but i decided against it due to SLI not being a 100% thing (Its great, but there are times/games that arent optimized for it..)

For me, the 570 will be about $300-ish at the end of the day due to some deals i snagged on it

Actually heres a nice deal:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814133370

$335 - $30 MIR...$305... makes it about $45-50 over a 560 ti....

From my perspective, a 560 ti is enough....for today...But when tomarrow comes i do feel the 560 ti is going to get overwhelmed fast, The 570 is a slightly more future proof option....

Dont sell yourself short, if you have the money get the 570. Otherwise you'll probably wish you would have gotten it.

I think you're underestimating the 560, or overestimating the 570. That is an awesome deal, but as far as "future proofing" is concerned, I'd expect both cards to have similar shelf life.

By the time the 560 can't keep up in modern games the 570 won't really be any better off, unless you just want to keep the option for 3-way sli open.

since ur upgrading from 8800 GT, that ^ makes perfect sense

btw the perf. difference between 560 and 570 is small while the price difference is large.
IMO the 460 was the new 8800GT, as short-lived as it was.

The 560 is more of the new 9800GT.

But to the OP, go with the 560.
