The g700 has more buttons and I can say from personal experience that the wireless is not laggy.

That's a tough one. I liked the overall contour and feel of the G700 a lot better than the Mamba. However, I hated the G700's buttons. They felt cheap and chintzy. The Mamba on the other hand has better quality construction and I prefer the semi-soft finish on the mouse as opposed to the G700's bare plastic finish. Also, the mamba seems to be slightly more palm grip biased (IMO).

I was given a chance to try the G700 and Mamba for a day ( I understand its pretty short time ) but I also didnt like the extra G keys but I really love the design on the G700, just hated all the buttons. I also agree with Cyb0rg the Mamba has more of a palm grip like the G9.

The mamba is almost flawless except the scrollwheel can make squeeky noises after a while

I had the same issue. Pull it apart and throw a little bit of WD-40 on it. Hasn't done it since for me. Razer offered to RMA it for me but I didn't have the invoice as it was a gift.

I would also like to add that the Mamba requires a bit more force to click compared to the G700,G500,G9x,G9. The lachesis and copperhead though has the same clicky feeling and force required to the logitechs.

Those who dont agree to this please let me though maybe the mamba I have is defective but both LMB and RMB have the same click feel and feedback its just harder to press compared to the logitechs.

How can we open up the mouse w/o scratching up the casing. I saw a vid on youtube just basically he is prying it open and im sure it will scratch up the plastic casing.

If you can find a G7, go for it. Been using it since its release:
Never had wireless issues
Has 2 hot swappable batteries (when you get good at it's only about a 5 second down time)
Has good weight to it

Note: No forward button...I never need a forward button, but most ppl for some reason do?

edit:
I have owned 2 of these (rev 2 is much better looking)
The first one was replaced only for upgrade on looks. (I have since lost it and I am very sad about that)
