400 x8 and mem at 800 would be a nice 24/7 setting for you. If your motherboard can handle 400FSB. If not, stick to the x9 multi.

Your mobo is not bad, at least it has 6-Phase CPU power circuitry...
Ram/mb cant take 400FSB sadly.

My MB does not have that option, the most I can do is set the fsb/ram multiplyer to 2.5 (if ram goes over 940-950 or so(i think) Hz my comp cant start).

going sandy bridge so just today i pushed my Q6600 to 3.6 from 3.4 with 1.424 which is set to auto...but kept a table fan beside the case ....cuz without it the temp plunges HARD and this summer time..
my idle temps are 44,45,42,43 and loads are 68,70*,64,66(but my thermal paste is whitish with no brand came with the DU-ORB)...i am sure high quality TIM like AC5 will reduce a few more degrees*..right?

so r the load and idle temps OK?(remeber this is with bad quality TIM)

It MUST have it. Otherwise it could not run DDR2 667, which was very common.

My SPD does not list the option of 2.0 (which is 1:1), 2.5 is as low as it can go. Default sets me up at 3. There are the default, 2.5 and 3.0, options so I dont know, maybe I have to unlock that option by enabling another option...will check when I come home.
