Weird fps, it would jump from 60fps to 35 to 25 back up to 60fps real quick... So I am getting inconsistent fps with it.

Edit the .cfg file (I don't think it's .ini) and set com_videoRam to 128 or 256. Could make a difference.

The lag spikes to 25 fps can just be bad coding also, when the game first came out, people with expensive systems were chugging along, everyone was going mad at the performance, saying oh, you should be able to run this game, I don't understand why.

What monitor are you using? Try disabling vsync, and enabling it, and post the FPS results.

Don't see that in the doom.cfg file.

Then you could try adding it!? Have a google round for already edited cfg files and just replace. Some people have put loads of work into cfg files to make games run amazingly!

I overclocked it to 4.2ghz and it took most of the slight slowdowns out of it.
