Sapphire 5870 2GB Eyefinity 6 Edition Overclock

Hey, guys.

I was just wondering if anyone here has one of these cards (I bought mine on Newegg's Shell Shocker Deal) and if so, what is the maximum overclock you achieved on it? I have created a custom BIOS for mine that unlocks the clock speeds, includes a custom fan profile, and sets the voltage to 1.2 volts and the maximum stable overclock I can get is 900MHz core clock and 1275MHz memory clock. Any tips on getting it faster? The maximum voltage I can get it up to is 1.35 volts I believe. I had it running at max voltage at 1000/1275 and it wasn't too unstable, but it would give me a grey-lined screen every once in a while.

I have mine at 900/1300 (i guess stock voltage because I cant change it). I done 1000/1400 but that lagged a little, but never really had trouble at 950/1350.

I know I can get the core clocks higher, but this card doesn't seem to like a memory clock higher than 1275MHz. This card already runs great the the speeds I have it now (~50-60 fps in the Crysis 2 demo, sometimes dropping to ~45), but I'd like to have it run even better.

By custom Bios do you mean that you just edited afterburner's cfg file? Or you actually wrote up a bios program?
I would just use afterburner with stock voltage and you'll get it 900/1300 easy.

I used GPUz to dump the BIOS from the card and edited in Radeon BIOS editor and then added the MSI unlocked signature to it then flashed the card.

Why would you go through all that trouble just to unlock the overclock abilities? Just use the original bios and unlock overclock mode via afterburner.

Well, two reasons.

One being that I can use the card in any OS without Afterburner and it handles everything on the card, not software so in case of Afterburner becoming unstable, it won't matter. Also, for some reason, I was having problems with Afterburner giving me poor performance and lower FPS than I knew I could get it up to. After flashing the BIOS the problems were all eliminated.

Enough about this, I just want to get the maximum performance out of this card. Any suggestions?

@kick; I doubt it, even on my card with regular original bios and unlocking afterburner's cfg file, I still have access to voltage control on the card. Its a reference card too.

@frosty; Have you tried CCC as well? Not to mention, because you have a custom bios, you probably have bad voltage setting because i still hit 900/1300 easy on stock.

With my 900/1300 oc, I am playing crysis 2 at 50-60 hardcore (with vsync)

I have uses CCC and after upping the memory clock to 1300 on the 1.175 volts, I would get crashing while doing stability tests on FurMark. I don't know how stable it would be now if I set it to 1300 with the new voltage. If anyone has gotten their card up to 1GHz core clock I'd love to know what their voltage is.
