[Eng]AT&T will cap DSL and U-Verse internet - Page 11

I'll be perfectly fine with a 250g cap per month because I don't think I'm over 175g as long as they provide me with the speed that I pay for. I get only 5 megs when the streams to the TVs aren't running and I know we are paying for close if not over 20megs

uh this is crap. my family has the atnt dsl and cell phone service. But the thing is is i have unlimited data plan on my phone still cause the service rep game it to be for only 10 bucks a month. so i think i will use it daily. xD also i am not data shy as you can see with so many hdd i have. this is getting ridiculous. i think atnt is butt hurt over iphone cause they know the service is bad.

People are still ignorantly numb.

This country's mindset along with our corporations don't give a rats ass about your well being, they just want your money.

Just look at the response when it comes to Katrina and compare that to the fast response of Sichuan, China and Sendai, Japan.

To see if someone cares about you is through their actions, how you are treated during times of crisis, not just blank words, but the American population is too dumb and numb and continue to put up with it.

The only reason things like this happen is because we allow it to happen. We have no one else to blame but ourselves.

this is sad.

they break their side of the contract and they can waive your contract breaking fee.

you break your side of the contract and they can take you to court.

of course you can take them to court but what's the chance (and cost) of winning

I see the end is near. I would have never imagined this.

Though when I had my 3mb down/768kb up DSL with AT&T, It was for $36 a month.

But since Ocotober of 2010 I've been making fiber optic love to my Verizon 10mb down/5mb up for only $33 (I have the triple package). My wife is jealous at how I'm watching movies on netflix now instead of taking out the trash

**** AT&T. Screw all these internet monopolies. I had problems with my connection going to 1/6th of its rated speed at random times for over a year. A tech came out and even said the line was fine and I just needed to buy a new modem. Bought one, still the same story so took it back. Just dealt with it for awhile but then finally reach a breaking point when my 6mb connection was literally crawling at 80kb/s all day.

I call them again and another tech comes out and finds some faulty wiring in the house and fixes it. Ok cool. He's confident that will fix it. Does a speed test and it's still stuck at a crawl. "***?" he says. I ask him if they're throttling me. "No no no. You have your own line so you don't get bogged down by network congestion." He calls the AT&T data/switching/whatever center in town and asks them what is up. "Oh the line you're on down there has been filled up and they forgot to switch you over to your own line like they're supposed to."

They switch it over and walla, it's back up to 600kb/s. No "oh we're sorry here's a credit for the service you payed for and didn't receive fully for a year" or anything. He also says "Yea there was a warning on your line but obviously they didn't do anything about it." I was P.I.S.S.E.D.

Americans do not protest. We have openly embraced consumerism for about 40 years now.

It's a sad day when Americans bend over while Canadians take it to the streets.

America is way more diverse...I dont even have att (internet) here, its verizon/comcast

Canada is alot smaller..thats like Texas or California getting capped and protesting it...its easier to pull corporate strings over here

doesnt Canada have caps tho? i heard of caps as low as 20gb
