Because Warren Buffet actually knows how to run a business that serves a clientele, rather than just making a product that maximizes profit.

He's buying up railroads now. And why? Cause he can see how they're being misoperated and underutilized.

Here's a guy who came out and said "tax code needs to change when someone like me pays less percentage wise in taxes than my secretary". He actually thinks the wealthy should pay more taxes.

Basically, he's honest. You won't hear Gates, Ellison, et al., saying they should pay more taxes because...they're all about self-profit.

Buffet is just a different breed of tycoon. He understands that for success, you have to give your clientele success...not just your shareholders.

He would make a kick butt ISP, because he'd invest in what is going to make him money for the duration...not just the next fiscal year.

I mean, it sounds really sleazy, but AT&T is notoriously sleazy about these things. I really hope this isn't a sign of things to come.

Also last month I used 1.2TB of data. I don't torrent or anything either. That was also a light month. Thank god for FiOS!
FIOS 4tw (right up until it's not).

And 1.2TB, hats off to you, man. lol

So, has any of the 300 million people living in the US come up with a solution or got the ball rolling yet?

No, Too many of us are all talk and no action. Too much fear of being sued out of existence i think.......

Though i did have this idea:

We could make our own cross-country internet network separate from the current infrastructure. it would be very hard to pull off and we would need ALOT of people to get it going but if we could start something and have it big enough, the ISP's would have no choice but to compete with it....

I think it is fair that we the consumer CAP how much we will pay ATT for their service!

Maybe then they will get off their corporate butts. My wife tried to work for them at one time.. They tell all their employees to follow a format and never tell them the truth. They make you work EVERY DAY no excuses even if you have a deathly sick child.. it isn't there problem. You have to be to work on time, eat on time, and even park in specific areas. Also they had quotas to make too.
My wife got to hear first hand the lies they teach employees to bullet proof the company.
It is all about get the consumer on board then it is about corporate lines to keep them billing going out.

I fought 2 years with the Bell company and the phone and internet services are two separate entities and the billing is from two separate but merged into one bill. They had their billing screwed in the internet system so every month they cut me off. Wife had to drive to a phone and call explain it all again and same thing back on before she got home again but the end of the month same thing.. for two years.
Bell thought the best way several times was to rid my acct and start a new one and they did that on there end and over a year later they try to then tell me I had 3 accts.. I had some techs have to remove months worths of notes they accumulated in my computer file.
But in the end 2+ years of this and I finally said send me a complete billing from day one.. And they never did send it.
So in short it still goes on your credit record cause they DON"T EVER have to comply with a person..
You just can't beat them and they know it.
I use a local company that I can grab them by the throat if they want to screw my billing. The way it used to be... IN PERSON!
In the end.. Corporates should be held accountable and us the consumer should really consider NOT buying into them until they meet our needs...

Chow!
