x4 965 BE help plz

Ok so just started overclocking this chip i got a little while back. First AMD build so starting from scratch i guess you could say.

Test #1
200x19 = 3800mhz 1.390v fail about 2 min on p95

Test #2
200x19 = 3800mhz 1.4v fail about 5 minutes in.

Test #3
200x19 = 3800mhz 1.4v, 2200 cpu/nb up from 2000, same results.

Test #4
200x19 = 3800mhz 1.420v 2000 cpu/nb stable 15minutes but 54c

Test #5
200x19 = 3800mhz 1.405v 2000 cpu/nb fail in 10 minutes. Leveled at 51c

Looking for pointers on this chip i guess, with the unlocked multiplier is the cpu/nb changing the stability at all? I see that alot of people on the official 6x5BE page use 1.42v but 54c seems pretty warm when i think this chip is only rated to 62c.

On that motherboard, don't OC at all.
You're using a 125W processor with a tower cooler on an unheatsinked 4+1 phase with MSI strapped all over it. You'll level your entire rig with fire if you do. This board is very well known for it even at low volts

In fact I recommend you step back a bit, return to stock, and begin undervolting.
You sir need a new board!

54ºC is very acceptable for a 3.8GHz on that chip. Take into account that prime95 will stress your CPU way beyhond what a normal, more real, usage will be. 55ºC on prime95 will be about 52ºC in normal loads, like gaming. I wouldn't worry so much on the CPU temps, but in putting some colling on the boards VRM if you plan to stick with your OC for daily use.

why did you stop the one that was 15 min stable?

I can't find it right now but I read an AMD article recommending up to 1.5 volts on air cooling. You are right about the 62C max. I agree that your temp seems high for that voltage. Maybe check the heat sink is seated well with enough thermal paste. Or your case needs more airflow.

I thought i read somewhere that you should try to keep these chips around 50c full load for 24/7 oc so thats why i stopped it.
