This has worked for me so far. I went into my steam folder(C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Steam\\steamapps\\common\\battlefield bad company 2) There was the pb folder so I right clcked and deleted it. Then I reinstalled it and updated as per the instructions posted earlier in here. I might add that Trixx was disabled when I updated, I played for about 6 maps or 45 minutes and then loaded Trixx because my GPU temp was high, over 62c. I put in an overclock and played 2 more maps. So far so good.

I use Trixx for overclocking my 5850 and it shows temps only around 50c. I was using AMD Overdrive to monitor the CPU, it showed temps of about 53c. I blew out AMD Od and installed Coretemp. It also showed 53c but disappeared after a crash. I put in Speeedfan and it show the following: Temp 1 @ 36c, I think this is the card as it matches Trixx, it has a blue arrow pointing down, Temp 2 @ 40c, a green check mark, Temp 3 @ 80c, it has a flame, Core @ 41c with a green check mark. Can anyone tell me what the temp 3 means and is the flame my problem?

Also don't worry about that 80c temp it is a bad sensor and will always read that.Totally normal.
The temp is refering to he nb on your motherboard, The lowest ive ever seen mine was 79 and it only goes to 80c and never higher usually don't even move off 79 thought.
I would be more worried about the unheatsinked mosfets on that board. You can buy a http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...016&Tpk=mst-88 if you can find one, it took me forever to find one. Its fits perfect also

And there is a button you can press to access how the computer boots into windows
you press is in post i cant remember what button it is thought

another update, it started again after I reinstalled AMD Overdrive. Sooo, I went through the whole procedure again and stopped using Trixx also. I played fine for awhile last night with CCC because My GPU was up to 75c without a program to increase the fan speed. That is mainly what TRixx was for although I was mildly overclocking the 5850. Lets see what tonight brings in BFBC2!
