Eh, I'd say drop the money for a second card. Then you're definitely set for BF3, at least near max settings.

Have you not seen all the trailers? It looks hella better than BC2 (I own it and play it maxed), and BC2 already looks friggin' good. Then again BC2 is a really well done console port; BF3 will be made for the PC. Optimizations galore!

You basically go from 15% slower to 10% faster than a 5870 at 1920x1200 at 1010/4960 clocks.

Super old review though from Xbit when the 5850s first came out. Not sure how drivers have changed this gap percentage.

If you go from a minimum of 25 to a minimum of 30 you'll notice a major difference in terms of gameplay.
