Coolmaster CM690 II Advance + Liquid Cool build

Thread Starter
Well it sure has been a long time since I have been on here. Last project I completed was http://www.overclock.net/case-mod-work-logs/319334-project-building-aluminium-case-scratch.html#post3707520 - a custom built aluminium case. It has served me well however time to upgrade to something a little more compact. In the middle of my studies so building another from scratch was not really an option.

The Coolmaster CM690 II Advance seemed to be the smallest unit that can support a 120*240 rad, so im hoping I made the right choice and for only $125

More or less i will be transferring the old system into the new case + a few minor upgrades.

Components:
-Asus P5KC motherboard
-2 X 1TB HDD + 160GB
-G.Skill 4GB Ripjaw DDR3
-ATI 3870X2
-E6600
-Corsair 750W PSU

Cooling:
-Swiftech CPU block and Pump
-Cylindrical reservoir/passive radiator
-120*240mm Radiator
-Bitspower acrylic pay reservoir/flow monitor

Pictures to come soon!

I also went with the window side panel version for obvious reasons...

Now to start pulling down the old case...

Needed to remove the additional HDD cage in order to fit the reservoir...

Mounted the DVD drive and one of two resivoir. This case is surprisingly roomy.

The radiator only just fit. It is actually pushing up against the inputs for mouse/keyboard and is putting some pressure on the motherboard but not enough to worry about I think.

ok... maybe not as roomy as i first thought...

The reservoir was never supplied with the barbs so had to go grab a couple from the power tool store. Bit of thread tape... hey presto!

@ HAVO the only issue so far has been the radiator being about 1mm to thick putting slight pressure on the motherboard. My radiator is rather fat. You really have 1 1/2 inch of room to play with when putting a radiator at the top... keep that in mind when choosing wink.gif

Nice! planning on using the exact same case for my new wc build

although I'm hoping to fit two 240 rads (one on top and one on the bottom) ~ I bought the slim black ice gt -stealth rads hoping the would fit smile.gif

@goldboy: the stealth rads will definitely leave you with enough room.

So now I have the GPU installed plus the PSU. Like to make know how well designed the cable management is on this case. Not a very good representation of that now though....

This is my old resivoir at the bottom. As long as I keep the water level high I should not have a problem with it laying down instead of sitting up. Plenty of room at the bottom with the HDD cage removed allowing for the res and the pump to sit side-by-side.

Finally have the CPU block mounted with ArticSilver thermal compound of choice.
