Small hand, Claw/Fingertip grip, Cloth pad, what mouse?

I'm having a difficult time finding a mouse that suits my needs, as I think that with my grip (and hand size) the typical winners aren't doing it for me.

I've used the wonderful MX518 for years, and it has served me well. However, it's time to upgrade and the single biggest problem I want to address is comfort. Here's my deal:

Major Issues
- I'm a man with lady hands. Don't judge me; They're small, but dexterous!
- I'm really attached to my comfy cloth pads. I'm wary of laser sensors.
- I use a very tight fingertip/claw grip, meaning my index and middle finger arch very high and very close to my hand. This is my ONLY problem with my mx518. If I let my hand drift to the position where it feels happy, then either my wrist ends up on top of the mouse (ruining the purpose of claw/finger grip) or my fingers drift back so far that I can't actuate the buttons.

Lesser Issues
- I love my thumb buttons, but I guess I can live without them.
- The texture of the mx518 is something I'd like to get away from.

G9x - Looks good, seems about the right size and shape. I've always had good experiences with Logitech. But, laser? Maybe I'm overreacting?
Abyssus - Looks good too. No thumb buttons makes me sadface. Never used a Razer product though.

Also, just to bite this before it comes up, yes I have tried a DA and it simply doesn't work with my grip. I squeeze the sides of the mouse between my thumb and ring/pinky, so I end up pressing the thumb buttons constantly.

So, I come to you, overgods of OC. Tell me about the lesser known mouse solutions that fit weirdos like me. Many thanks.

steel series Xai, I have small hands also and this mouse is perfect. I do use a hard surface and it's awesome, not sure about cloth but I don't see why it wouldn't be good there too.

I have a G7 and its been awesome in every way but comfort. They ridge on the right side always hurts.I have narrowed my choices down to the G9x and Mionix Naos 5000.You will not have a problem with the lazer on the G9x and it's smaller size should work well for you.Its just a little small for me tho.I think I will probably go with the Naos.Steelseries Qck seems to be the pad of choice for a lot of people on here.Amazon sales them.

These are the numbers I look at that concern me most.

Length in millimeters
MX518: 130
Naos: 130
Xai: 125
Abyssus:115
G9x: 108

Is this even worth looking at? After considering the curve of the mouse itself and the size of the buttons, does the length even matter? Or does shorter mouse generally = shorter grip?

The Spawn looks awesome. Thank you very much, I was unaware of it.

Probably because nobody sells it. http://www.coolermaster-usa.com/product.php?product_id=3021

Maybe I'll end up with a G9x after all.

Xai

Abyssus is also a good choice but since you're worried about the lack of side buttons just go with the Xai

I use this grip as well... Best mouse I've used for those 2 grips is the Razer Lachesis... I know a lot of people had issues with the first model, but I thoroughly enjoyed mine and am considering the switch to the new model.

The Xai like previously mentioned looks like it would work nicely too. The ambidextrous mice seem to work best for fingertip/claw users. I would like to try one, but unfortunately they're quite pricey.

One thing that grinds my gears about many mice is the location of the side buttons. Most of the 'ergonomic' mice for right handed people only locate the side buttons too high up requiring too much movement of the thumb to access them. I prefer when your thumb rests normally right where the buttons are so you don't physically have to relocate your thumb to hit them... just push down. ---The Lachesis and Xai seem to fit this bill nicely. The G9/G9x side buttons seem too high for me, same with just about any other 'right handed only' mouse.

I just recently bought the Cooler Master Sentinel and do not like it... It's a good mouse, but very uncomfortable to me. Do not like the position of side buttons and definitely do not like the contour of the thumb rest. I cannot put my hand on it comfortably...oh also no grip on the right side for ring finger/pinky... Probably good for palm users; but the contour of the thumb rest I still couldn't imagine being comfortable for most people...

Got a Kova+ this morning and it is very nice for my fingertip grip, only parts of my hand in contact with the mouse are my fingertips and it has rubber panels on the sides so no chance of slippage.

Might I ask what made you switch from the Pyra to the Kova? I was giving the Roccats a glance, and they seem pretty good, but I live in the USA. Performance-pcs.com distributes them every now and again, but I'm nervous about their return policy and customer service with such an uncommon item on this side of the pond.
