Repaired - Feser One X-360 TFC Xchanger sprung a leak

Thread Starter
Feser One X-360 TFC Xchanger sprung a leak when leak testing today.

Was hoping it might be the seal on the bleed screw. Nope. Bottom side, opposite of the barbs.

It seems like it's one thing after the next.

Anyone have RMA experiences with Feser? I was in the process of getting ready to MOD my ATCS 840 and put the WC loop back in it. (Took it out last January when my Classified had the error code of death. The only thing it's been doing is sitting in a box.

Also, if warranty is no good; How hard are they to get into? I've done a bit of pipe repair on copper before.

I bought this thing in March 2009, and had it running until January 2010.

The dual Radiator is fine.

If all else fails, what's a comparable rad that will fit up top in the ATCS 820 with Push-Pull 24MM fans.

Apologized for the extended story; just seems to be one thing after the next with this machine (or my luck)

It's leaking at a weld seam?

That's pretty sad that it didn't last long. I've had my Thermochill PA 130.3 running 24/7 since spring of 2006 and no problems.

do you have a recommendation to take it apart? It's leaking between the fins.

IDEA! I just popped the side off. Shocking how easy it was. I poked the tube with a screw :9

I'll try soldering first, if not that, then JB WELD!

Before Soldering

After

Apparently between posting earlier, and repairing, I forgot where the leak was. So, I soldered in two spots, but apparently only one place was punctured.

The only test thus far has been filling it with water, plugging one port, and blowing. (I play Trombone, I would be able to make it buzz, trickle)

No leak with that test. I'll run the loop tomorrow after work to see if I get any moisture.

I just used a soldering gun, I didn't like how it started to glow with the torch (Didn't want to loosen up a different solder joint.

ANd apparently it will be easy to put the sides back on with JB WELD. ( I would have though they woulda been brazed on, but it was just epoxy.

Thanks to the forum and these posts to give me the right idea. I didn't realize the Rad had tall thin tubes (like a ribbon) until now. I thought the tubes were behind the fins in S bends

Test to see if the solder comes off. If it comes off or tries to come them you need to use flux and more heat. Yes be careful since the tubes are thin.

I started with flux and my trusty wire brush Definitely doing an over night test tomorrow.

My rigs in a HAF 912 ATM, safe on Air Supposed to be my server case, but that's another story.

You can do a leak down test by plugging one port and screwing in an air line in the other. Just set the air compressor really low psi.
