AMD Phenom™ II X6 1100T Black Edition

Thread Starter
Hi all,
I am newbie to this whole over clocking concept, so please be patient with me ...
I got the 1100t with this motherboard GA-870A-UD3 -- AMD 870 w/ 2x PCI-E 2.0 x16
Also I have 8g or ram 1600 ddr3.
My CPU has liquid cooling system (not fancy 50-60$ range).

I would like to know to which speed I should expect to over clock my CPU but for a stable system. Meaning - i don't want to have my pc freeze if i use Photoshop or see a movie.
Also - what will be the expected tmp that this cpu should work at ?

Any tips and help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Well every CPU is different. Some people can make it to 4GHz, some can't.

The best way to figure out where you can get to is trial and error. overclock it, test it with stability programs like linx and prime95 while watching temps with HWMonitor or something, then if its stable move up to a higher overclock, repeat until you are unstable then go back to your last stable overclock and run Prime for 12+ hours.

It's time consuming but the best way to find your maximum overclock without problems.

first please fill in your system info in UserCP.
second, have you read everything you can find on overclocking ?
it is completely trial and error. eventually it will be trial and success.
fill in your specs and you'll get a lot more help faster with recommendations on everything from reference speeds to ram speeds to nb speeds to volts.
also you can search and read through this section of the forums. you can see everyone else's triumphs n heartaches.
