Crossfire/Sli , getting better FPS.

Personally I like getting better graphic benches than a single 5970. (OC'ed 5850's wink.gif)

Increase in FPS. If your running games that are already at 80-90 fps, it'll have no noticeable effect. If your getting 40fps in games, you may see it rise to 60, in the best cases to 80. Depends on what game really.

Are you ok with not having 60fps in Crysis and Metro maxed? Positive you don't get stable 60fps in a lot of games, those are just the most common examples lol

If you have the money, why not?

No they have to be the same GPU's for SLI.
SLI is a cheap alternative for getting better performance.

If you need more FPS you have to buy a GTX 580 which would cost you $500 - the selling price of the GTX 470 (around $180) = $320

Instead you could just buy another 470 for $180 and save $140 + you're getting a 50% performance boost over the GTX 580 provided you don't have driver problems.
